MSc Advanced Chemical Research — Distinction
The MSc in Advanced Chemical Research at University College London focused on synthetic chemistry and peptide design. The research investigated the synthesis of cyclic peptides with antimicrobial potential using N–S acyl transfer mechanisms, including the fluorination of amino-acid side chains to increase reactivity and facilitate the cyclisation process.
Research Excellence Scholarship
The Royal Institution Research Scholarship involved a 10-week summer research project focused on nanomedicine and targeted drug delivery. The research explored the encapsulation of magnetic nanoparticles within the second hollow spherical layer of polymersomes, while the inner cavity was designed to contain a therapeutic drug, enabling externally guided magnetic targeting for potential cancer treatment applications.
